NORMATIVAS Y CERTIFICACIONES

113-STPS-2009 TIPO III + TIPO II + TIPO VI TENIS DE SEGURIDAD

The PFL anchor point covers the first link of any personal fall arrest system: the anchorage. It wraps around a beam, column or sound structural element and provides two steel D-rings to connect the lanyard, with no need to drill or install permanent hardware. Its 90 centimeters of 1 3/4 in nylon webbing accommodate profiles of different sections, while the zinc-coated rings resist corrosion outdoors. The webbing is for general use, not for sharp edges. Its installation determines its effectiveness, so three points deserve care. First, the structural element must be sound: it is never placed on weak or fragile structures, nor on sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that could cut the webbing. Second, it connects to the dorsal D-ring of a full body harness through a shock-absorbing lanyard or a retractable lifeline; the anchor point alone arrests nothing. Third, it is not intended for electrician work or telecommunications with exposure to electrical wiring. Remove it from service immediately if it has been subjected to fall arrest, and inspect it before each shift for cuts, abrasion or deformation in the rings, as required by NOM-017-STPS-2024.
Recommended for general construction work, scaffold work, building cleaning and repair, and forestry activities at height. It is especially useful where no certified anchor point exists and one must be set up on an existing structure. It fits civil works, structural assembly, industrial maintenance and building maintenance.
