The LVL-10 vertical lifeline secures continuity of movement as the worker climbs or descends a structure, instead of forcing them to re-anchor every few meters. Its twisted polyester rope construction provides maneuverability that steel cable does not: it weighs less, coils easily and is more comfortable to carry, store and handle on site. The connection end carries a steel safety snap hook with textile reinforcement at the eye, the area where the rope takes the most wear.
How it integrates into the system should be clear before assigning it. The rope alone does not arrest a fall: it requires a sliding fall arrester that travels along the line and locks in a fall, connected to the dorsal D-ring of a full body harness. In addition, the data sheet sets out three restrictions: it must not be used for electrician work without a dielectric harness — for electrical risk exposure, the suitable model is the ARN-DIELEC-L — it is not intended for telecommunications infrastructure with exposed wiring, and it must not be used to remain suspended at heights. Also verify that the top anchorage is sound, never a weak or fragile structure, and avoid sharp edges or abrasive surfaces. Inspect it before each shift and remove it from service if it has been subjected to fall arrest, as required by NOM-017-STPS-2024.
Recommended for general construction work, scaffold work, building cleaning and repair, and forestry activities. It is especially useful when climbing and descending fixed ladders, towers or façades, where the worker needs continuous protection along the route. It fits civil works, industrial maintenance, structural assembly and building maintenance.
