NORMATIVAS Y CERTIFICACIONES
113-STPS-2009 TIPO III + TIPO II + TIPO VI TENIS DE SEGURIDAD
The LVB-1.8 positioning lanyard holds the worker against a vertical surface — wall, window or pole — so they can operate with both hands free. Its 1-inch nylon webbing measures 6 ft and ends in double-locking steel snap hooks, a mechanism that requires two deliberate motions to open and prevents accidental release from contact with the structure. Each hook is rated to 3,600 lbs, well above the load imposed by work positioning.
That said, one restriction must be clear before any commercial consideration. This lanyard is positioning equipment and must not be used to arrest a fall. A positioning lanyard has no energy absorber, so in a fall it would transmit the full force to the worker’s body. Its place is in the restraint system, connected to the side rings of a belt or harness, while fall arrest is handled by a shock-absorbing lanyard or a retractable lifeline connected to the dorsal ring. Therefore, always select it as a complement, with compatible anchorage, pre-shift inspection and user training, as required by NOM-017-STPS-2024. Never tie the webbing back onto itself or anchor it around the lanyard’s own snap hook. Supplied in a case of 20 pieces.
Recommended for general construction work, scaffold work, building cleaning and repair, telephone towers, electrical sector activities and forestry. It is especially relevant for work on poles, façades or windows, where the worker needs to lean against the surface to operate. It fits telecommunications, electrical distribution, structural assembly and building maintenance.
