The C-ARN-L lanyard serves the same function as the webbing model, but with 1/2-inch twisted nylon rope. Its shock absorber is what sets it apart from a positioning lanyard: when arresting a fall, the absorber webbing deploys in a controlled way and limits the force transmitted to the body to a maximum of 4 kN, instead of letting the impact reach the worker in full. The rope provides flexibility to conform around poles and irregular profiles, while the double-locking steel snap hooks require two deliberate motions to open and prevent accidental release. Correct use depends on three conditions. The anchorage must be sound, never a weak or fragile structure, and sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that could damage the rope should be avoided. It must connect to the dorsal D-ring of a full body harness, not to a positioning belt. And available fall clearance must be calculated, adding the lanyard length, absorber elongation and the worker’s height. Remove it from service immediately if it has already arrested a fall, and inspect it before each shift for cuts, abrasion or deformed hardware, as required by NOM-017-STPS-2024. Supplied in a case of 20 pieces.
Recommended for general construction work, scaffold work, building cleaning and repair, telephone towers, electrical sector activities and forestry. Its rope construction suits work where the lanyard must wrap around poles or irregular profiles, and where the worker prefers a more flexible connector than flat webbing. It fits civil works, structural assembly, telecommunications and industrial maintenance.
